Career

 

For two decades, Jackie Barton has worked in and with service-minded organizations to steward and leverage the places and stories they love. Jackie’s professional background includes employment and consulting in the public, private and nonprofit sectors:

  • Planning, engaging communities, and completing historic preservation, heritage tourism, and heritage- and tourism-based economic development projects for public and nonprofit clients as a planning consultant

  • Initiating and growing partnerships; planning and executing visitor experience and audience outreach projects; and serving in a leadership capacity at a statewide history organization that included a museum and historic site network, a historic preservation office, and outreach programming

  • Serving as staff to a County Executive

  • Operating a place-based nonprofit

Jackie lives in the Central Ohio region with her family and finds joy in discovering what others love about their places and stories.
